Couleur Inc Garnet stamped with Pueen 15

Couleur Inc Garnet stamped with Pueen 15

Here is 3 coats of Couleur Inc Garnet, a very very sheer aqua with silver and light blue glitter, over 1 coat of OPI Solitaire, mattified and stamped with Essence Let's Get Lost and Pueen 15. As my poor stamping skills left quite a big gap in the design on my ring finger, ended up sticking on a nail sticker :p

Quite disappointed that Couleur Inc Garnet is so sheer as I was looking forward to getting the color that is in the bottle (>.<). Even over a white base, the color barely shows up.

Anyway, click below for more pics.

Comparison: Catrice Marilyn & Me vs OPI The Spy Who Loved Me

Comparison: Catrice Marilyn & Me vs OPI The Spy Who Loved Me

When I put on Catrice Marilyn & Me in my previous post, I was reminded of OPI The Spy Who Loved Me so decided to put them side by side to compare.

The bottle shots seem pretty close right? For the swatches on sticks, OPI The Spy Who Loved Me looks slightly warmer and has finer glitter. Click below for comparison pics.

Chanel Travel Makeup Palette Altitude

Chanel Travel Makeup Palette Altitude

Felt kinda guilty for buying and not really using this palette so thought I might as well take it out for a swatch and hopefully be more motivated to use it? :p

This is available in duty free, recently saw it when I went on my holiday, think it was S$97. It has 5 eyeshadows (blue, pink, white, light brown and dark brown), a face powder, a blush, 2 lipsticks, 2 lipglosses, a concealer, a mascara and 4 applicators.

Color Club Halo Hues stamped with BM323

Color Club Halo Hues stamped with BM323

Merry Christmas! I did this mani hurriedly before I went on holiday so no step by step shots, just this one which was taken in the middle of my hol :p This is Color Club Eternal Beauty sponged with Miss Bliss in the middle (though can't really be seen) and tips with Over the Moon. I then stamped with the snowflakes image in BM323, which is one of my favs, and topped with a holographic glitter from Daiso.

That's all for this post, have a great Christmas! :)

Clé de Peau Beauté Palette Vintage II highlighter

Clé de Peau Beauté Palette Vintage II highlighter

This is not a new product (think it was released in 2010?) but nonetheless, I just got this gorgeous Clé de Peau Beauté Palette Vintage II highlighter from a warehouse sale and just wanted to share (and also to record its untouched appearance before I proceed to "ruin" it :p)

The picture above is with the gold overlay and you can see the actual product after the jump. I don't usually wear highlighters but this is too pretty to ignore. The powder is very fine and there isn't obvious glitter, just micro sparkles that help to give a glow to the face. Am really eager to start adding this to my daily routine :D

Catrice In the Armee Glow with OPI Live & Let Die

Catrice In the Armee Glow with OPI Live & Let Die and OPI Golden-I

I had Chanel Alchimie in mind when I chose this, but unfortunately, it's not a dupe :(

This is 2 coats of Catrice In the Armee Glow, a khaki green with strong gold shimmers, with OPI Live & Let Die drawn on directly with brush (thin enough as it's a mini) and Sally Hansen Golden-I with striping brush for the gold stripes. Application wise, it is fine, but I wish Catrice In the Armee Glow was cooler in tone. The gold shimmers were very prominent on the nails, so not exactly what I was hoping for, sigh....

Candy cane nails with Catrice Marilyn & Me

Catrice Marilyn & Me with Innisfree Eco Nail Color 20

It's been more than a year since I started painting nails frequently but this is actually my first time at taping (o_o) Which didn't turn out that well unfortunately, argh....totally reminded me of water marbling when I was all thumbs (-_-)"

Anyway, starting to be in the mood for Christmas so decided on some candy cane nails :) The red is Catrice Marilyn & Me, a red with red glitter (it stains!), white base is Couleur Inc Snow White (which had no application issues again, yay) and the white glitter is Innisfree Eco Nail Color 20.

Catrice Karl Says Tres Chic

Catrice Karl Says Tres Chic

This is 2 coats of Catrice Karl Says Tres Chic, a pretty muted pink with brown undertones. Somehow I really like it and even wore it plain for a week! :p

It reminded me of Essence English Rose but the latter is much darker as you can see below. Btw, if you get swatch sticks, I recommend getting the cream ones instead of the transparent ones as it indicates opacity better and somehow I found that the transparent ones appear dull, not sure if the polish is melting the surface of the plastic or something (-_-)"

Catrice It's All I Can Blue with Essie Under Where?

Catrice It's All I Can Blue with Essie Under Where?

Finally had some motivation to do some nail art :D

Index and ring fingers have white base with Couleur Inc Snow White (very appropriately named :p) and I used the watercolor technique with Catrice It's All I Can Blue and Essie Under Where?

Middle finger is Catrice It's All I Can Blue with roses painted on with acrylic paint. Pinky is Essie Under Where? with a pearl stuck on and dotting with white acrylic paint.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick 101, 110, 111, 113

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick 101, 110, 111, 113

Have recently discovered a love of matte lipsticks, especially bold colors, hence a haul of 4 lipsticks from Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick range - 101 (cool pink), 110 (orangey red), 111 (true red), 113 (beige nude).

Lips have definitely gotta be scrubbed and moisturised for these to wear nicely, otherwise it sinks into lines / clings to chapped lips (especially 113), but I do like the intensity. The lipstick has a sort of fruity sweet smell which is a little synthetic, but I don't mind it much. The lipsticks don't come sealed or even scotch-taped so I was kinda worried but luckily all were fine. The only thing was that one of the caps was misshaped (2nd from the right) so that was a little annoying (>.<)

Catrice Wrapped around my Finger stamped with Sally Hansen Pink Satin

Catrice Wrapped around my Finger stamped with Sally Hansen Pink Satin

It's been a long time since I did any stamping, and I guess it shows (-_-)" Anyway, this is Catrice Wrapped around my Finger stamped with Sally Hansen Pink Satin with BM321. Btw, if you are wondering about my super short pinky, it's because I bent it and 2/3 of the nail turned white (>.<) so I had to keep cutting it short otherwise it would somewhat flare outwards at the tips.

Catrice Wrapped around my Finger is a magenta pink creme which is pretty opaque and I love the color. However, it stains a little so would be better to put an extra layer of base coat.

Catrice Heavy Metallilac with Sally Hansen Golden-I half moons

Catrice Heavy Metallilac with Sally Hansen Golden-I half moon

Still no inspiration for any nail art so decided on simple half moons. The half moons are done using Sally Hansen Golden-I, a shimmery gold foil and the purple is Catrice Heavy Metallilac, a medium purple with pink shimmer.

Catrice Wheels on Fire from Catrice polish haul

Catrice Wheels on Fire

I hauled quite a few Catrice nail polishes a while ago and am starting to swatch them. Here is the first one, Catrice Wheels on Fire, a bright pink coral with silver shimmer. This is 2 coats without top coat. The first coat went on quite patchy but wasn't too bad after the second coat. I had been wanting a pink coral polish for some time but this leans rather neon-ish, which is not exactly what I expected.

Click below for more pics and of haul polishes.

Ettusais Foamy Rich Mousse & BB Mineral White

Ettusais Foamy Rich Mousse & BB Mineral White

It's a rare non-nail related post but I have to rant a little about the Ettusais Foamy Rich Mousse which is supposed to be a "5-in 1 multi-functional foamy cleanser and makeup remover" that promises to enable you to "skip double cleansing". However, I found it not that effective and definitely will not depend on it to clean off my makeup thoroughly. It also has a citrus/lemon smell which I do not like, even though it is supposed to be fragrance fee.

On the other hand, Ettusais BB Mineral White is not too bad. I like that it has SPF45 PA++ and its coverage is quite sufficient for me.

Sally Hansen All Yarned Up over Essence Grunge Me Tender

Sally Hansen All Yarned Up over Essence Grunge Me Tender

I was curious about Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat series so when I saw it on sale, decided to try one out and picked Sally Hansen All Yarned Up as I figured that the multi-colored matte bar glitter (blue, yellow, peach) will go with more colors? :p

So here is 2 coats of Sally Hansen All Yarned Up over 3 coats of Essence Grunge Me Tender.

Sally Hansen Confetti Punch over Couleur Inc Baked Alaska 61

Here is 1 coat of Sally Hansen Confetti Punch, which is is a magenta fine glitter/small hex glitter and blue larger hex glitter, over 2 coats of Couleur Inc Baked Alaska 61, a dusty plum with gold shimmer. The latter is lovely and quite cheap, big 3 free and with nice consistency ;)

Orly Flicker

Orly Flicker

I was actually planning to use Orly Flicker as a base for a Halloween theme mani (I'm still catching up on my posts >.< ) but totally didn't have any time or inspiration unlike last year so here's just a plain swatch.

Orly Flicker is like a glow-from-within burnt orange, but I had a little difficulty applying it as it will drag if I tried to go over the same area more than once. Anyway, this is 2 coats and below is another shot.

Etude House PBL601 and Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop

Etude House PBL601 and Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop

This is from some weeks back when I still had time for nail art (my subsequent posts will be much plainer >.<). Anyway, this is Etude House PBL601, a milky light blue with multi color hex glitters in 2 sizes, and Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop, a pink base with multi color hex glitters as well. Please ignore the staining, which was caused by Essence Off to Miami (beware!)

Etude House PBL601 looks blue-er in the bottle than on the nails. On the nails, it was more whitish and I had to apply 3 coats to get closer to bottle shade. Will probably try it over a blue base next time.

Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop normally doesn't look too flattering on my skin tone but it works well here when mixed with Etude House PBL601.

The white lines were using acrylic paint and I like the resulting patchwork-like/wrapping paper look of this :)

Essence Destination Sunshine with flowers

Essence Destination Sunshine with flowers

Been really busy for the last few weeks, finally trying to catch up on my posts -_-"

This is Essence Destination Sunshine sponged on and the flowers were dotted on using Essence Absolutely Blue and Orly Cotton Candy. I dabbed on a glittery holographic clear polish from Daiso between the clear and yellow polish as well.

That's all for this simple mani...thanks for viewing!

Etude House WH901 over China Glaze For Audrey & Essence Enchanted Fairy

Etude House WH901 over CG For Audrey & Essence Enchanted Fairy

Love this pretty Etude House glitter polish, WH901, with white/ yellow/ blue/ pink hex, diamond and heart glitters. Index and pinky is Essence Enchanted Fairy, middle is China Glaze For Audrey and ring finger has the 2 polishes along with OPI Do you lilac it.

Think this is my favorite Etude House glitter so far, with its soft pastel colors and different shapes/sizes :D

Etude House QR203 over Essence Off to Miami

Etude House QR203 over Essence Off to Miami

Just very basic mani with Etude House QR203 over Essence Off to Miami. I hit my nail before it was fully dried hence the wrinkly looking middle finger :(

Etude House QR203 has white, yellow, orange glitters in hexes, diamonds and stars while Essence Off to Miami is a bright coral-orange, which I must warn you stains badly, grr.....

OPI Give me the Moon! and Eternal Basic with flowers

OPI Give me the Moon and Eternal Basic with flowers

Base is OPI Give me the Moon! and I added chervon tips with Eternal Basic mini-m18 (Japanese brand) before drawing on pink flowers with acrylic paint. OPI Give me the Moon! is a very light grey sheer with blue shimmer, while the Eternal Basic polish is a pretty blue polish with flakes that flash pink (which you can see in the bottle). Essie Come Here & First Timer skittle with flower decal

Essie Come Here & First Timer skittle with flower decal

I have Essie Come Here on my index and pinky and First Timer on my middle finger with saran wrap kind of design but using acetone instead. The flower stamps are from a KKCenterHK plate, which you can see more of here.  On my ring finger, I tried out another water nail decal from KKCenterHK, which is more of full nail design. See below for the full piece of decal.

N.NAIL Beetle Morning Glory Flower Field Nail Water

The design is pretty big so if you have long nails, they should be more than sufficient. I actually used the shorter flower for my nail (the one next to the cut piece). Do note that they have a thin plastic cover on the decal, so after you slide the paper backing off and place the decal on the nail, you also have to slide off the plastic cover.

Wanted a soft look and to try out my new nail art brush, and here's the result :) Base is Essence Ballerina's Charm, then I used a fan brush to put on Essence Sure Azure and Destination Sunshine. Drew on the flowers and swirls with white acrylic paint and topped it with OPI Pirouette My Whistle.

Cats under tree in the evening using nail decals from KKCenterHK

Cats under tree in the evening using nail decals from KKCenterHK

Somehow when I got this decal, I simply wanted to do a evening/sunset kind of look with lovey-dovey cats under the tree :p And I'm happy that my choice of colors for the gradient worked out :D I used Essence Oh My Glitter, Essence Meet Me Now, Relvon Mad About Mango and Essence Little Miss Sunrise for the gradient and Essence Galactic Black for the black ground. The decals can be bought from KKCenterHK in this link - N.NAIL Cupid/Love Tree/Cats Water Decals Nail Art.

Pink and orange checkered nails with stamped bow from KKCenterHK plate

Was in a mood for a sweet looking mani and since I received the stamping plate (NNAIL-SPPMF08) from KKCenterHK which had a cute bow in it, decided to do checks + bow :)

The pink is Couleur Inc Botein, orange is Essence Peaches and the gold stripe is Sally Hansen Golden-I.

Nubar Rockin' the Garden & Essence Miss Universe

Nubar Rockin' the Garden & Essence Miss Universe

Here is Nubar Rockin' the Garden on the index, middle and pinky and Essence Miss Universe on ring finger. I sponged on Sally Hansen Celeb City before sponging Essence Miss Universe on the non-accent fingers and drew on flowers with acrylic paint (I think my brush was too thin so it looks rather feathery? -_-"). Lastly added a square stud surrounded by blue rhinestones on accent.
